Construction is well and truly underway at Techport Australia.

Current project status:

  • The world-class common user shipbuilding infrasturcture - including wharf, runway, dry berth and Australia's largest shiplift - is 80% complete. 
  • Almost half of Stage 1 of the fully integrated industrial Supplier Precinct is now sold.
  • Construction of the state of the art Air Warfare Destroyer Systems Centre is underway.
  • New road and rail bridges are operational linking Techport Australia to the national transport network.
  • Construction of the $100 million ASC Shipyard is due for completion in late 2009.
  • The Maritime Skills Centre is operational, training people with trade and technical skills for the AWD project.

Techport Australia, Australia’s premier naval industry hub, is taking shape – it will continue to be a hive of development activity for the next two years.
